Fruit Salad is an interactive book on Indian fruits, drawn in warm colours by French artist Chiara Armellini. Each fruit is named, and both image and text have their own pages. But here is the trick. Each page is divided into three flaps and if you hold all three flaps together, you see the fruit and its name. But if you let go of one or the other of the flaps, you see part of the next page or the one before that. As words and pictures get all mixed up, you’ll find the strangest fruit you have ever seen, with the most absurd names!
Young children will pick up the joke in no time... and love the challenge of mixing, matching and making up their own fruits and names.
This unusual book which is also a game has been printed on a letter press and bound by hand.
