Considered by many as one of the greatest Cellists of the 20th Century, he started his musical career as a Pianist (and former student of Shostakovich) before studying Cello under his Uncle Semyon Kozolupov. Marking the 95th birthday of Mstislav Leopoldovich Rostropovich in 2022, we have collected together some of legendary cellist ‘s finest recordings; Dvorak: Cello Concerto in B Minor, Opus. 104 (Recorded in 1952 with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and Conducted by Vaclav Talich) and Schumann: Cello Concerto, Opus 129 (Recorded in 1957 with the Leningrad Philharmonic Orchestra and Conducted by Gennadi Rozhdestvensky).
